Q. Do I need to take my car seat out of the car to install the nomie baby car seat cover?
A. No. The nomie baby cover slips over your existing car seat cover, and the Velcro openings allow the shoulder straps to slip through without the hassle of unbuckling the straps and removing the car seat.

Q. Will the cover fit on all car seats?
A. The infant size is designed to fit on standard infant-sized car seats while the toddler size is designed to fit over most convertible/toddler car seats such as Graco and Britax. Elastic edges on both sizes allows for flexibility.

Q. Are there any special washing instructions?
A. The nomie baby car seat cover can be machine washed and dried, and the quilted design will prevent the padding from bunching up.

Katie Danziger, mom-preneur and founder of nomie baby, was born and raised in New York City. She attended Vassar College and Yale University where she graduated with a degree in Psychology.

After college, Katie got her start as an assistant producer at an advertising agency before landing a job with AmFAR, the nonprofit organization dedicated to ending AIDS through research. Following this, Katie quickly found a niche for herself in special events and promotions, working for companies such as Columbia/TriStar Pictures, The National Sports Daily and Viewer's Choice Pay-Per-View.

After having her first child – a son – Katie decided to leave her full-time job so she could take on a new one – that of a full-time mom. She had two more children after that, with the third serving as inspiration for nomie baby.

In 2007, Katie turned lemons into lemonade when the youngest of her daughters – a baby at the time – spilled on her car seat. Katie wrestled with the seat to remove the cover, and unfortunately the seat won, as the label read, "Do not machine wash." Spot cleaning didn't help, and Katie's idea for an easily-removable, washable and waterproof car seat cover was born.

After more than a year of research to find the best fabrics and to determine the most effective construction, the nomie baby car seat cover launched in summer 2008.

Says Katie, "The nomie baby cover solves problems for parents, makes their lives easier, keeps their kids cleaner, and because it extends the life of a car seat, nomie baby is both cost-effective and good for the environment. Buy less and recycle more. Who doesn't love that concept?"

In between taking care of her kids – now ages 15, 13 and 2 – and getting her new business up and running, Katie still finds time for French toast breakfasts and home-cooked dinners. She loves sports – both playing and watching – walking through Central Park, and visiting the Central Park Zoo, a family favorite.
