HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair 2012
The fair that is growing to meet your needs
January 2012 sees the third edition of HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, whose growth has kept pace with this vibrant industry, by offering a wide range of products for babies and infants up to four years of age. Originally a spin-off from the world's second largest toy fair, the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair has developed an early maturity, with over 340 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions at the 2011 fair.
From the first fair in 2010, word of its success spread, resulting in a 22% increase in buyers in 2011, when over 25,300 buyers from 122 countries and regions visited the fair.
Consumers are demanding higher quality and a wider range of choice in baby products. Designers and manufacturers are rising to the occasion with safe products, fashionable garments, clever design ideas, and strong branding. Buyers will have an even bigger, brighter choice in 2012.

Buyer response to 2011 fair
Buyers appreciated the multiple sourcing opportunities and also the professional organisation which made the show run so smoothly.
“Pigeon Corporation is one of the world’s leading producers of baby and mother care products with annual sales of over ¥50 billion. I am visiting the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair for the first time. This is a nice show and the service has been excellent. I can see so many different products from all over world. I’ve identified several new suppliers from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Europe for the provision of baby toys and bedding products. Orders will be placed after further discussion.” Nina Ikeya, Senior Buyer, Pigeon Corporation, Japan
“We are an importer and distributor of medical equipment and baby products. Our annual turnover is about US$25 million. I visited the fair to meet suppliers and find new baby articles such as feeding bottles, car seats, baby monitors and toys. This trip has been rewarding. I expect to strike deals with five or more suppliers. The fair is a great place for international buyers. Everything is excellent.” Anas A. Al-Mutabagani, Deputy Executive Director, Isam Economic Company Ltd., Saudi Arabia
“This is an incredible show with such a diverse range of innovative and trendy products. We are here sourcing new products for sale to customers including supermarkets, mass merchants and pharmacies in Australia. Negotiations are under way with suppliers for several interesting items including baby monitors and tableware. We will place some strong orders after the show. We will definitely return next year.”

Additional benefits to buyers
Concurrent events:
One of the world's iconic events, HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, is on at the same time as the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, offering synergistic sourcing. Buyers also benefit from the concurrent HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show and Hong Kong International Stationery Fair, all under the same roof.
Industry trend insights:
The market trend to organic products and products made with sustainable materials and processes is driving the creation of many new products. These can be seen in the Eco Toys and Baby Products Display Area.
The Hong Kong Toys and Baby Products Awards is an expansion of the well-received Hong Kong Baby Products Awards of previous fairs. In 2012, the Awards will be open to exhibitors of both the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair and the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair. The Awards highlight innovative, creative and eco-friendly toys and baby products. The winning pieces will be featured during the fair to give extra exposure and publicity to exhibitors.
During the fair period there will be product demonstrations to allow buyers to see how products perform. Many manufacturers use January as the launch date for new products so this fair is timely. There will also be information events such as seminars to provide industry updates on markets and the regulatory environment.
Hong Kong venue:
Hong Kong is an acknowledged trading hub, and buyers are able to make use of world-class supporting services in communications, finance and logistics. The fair venue, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, offers banks, restaurants and shops and is within walking distance of the many entertainment outlets, shopping areas and restaurants in Wanchai.
