Nursing Clothes for Nursing Moms:
What Women are Wearing

Moms no longer need to give up their style to attend to their babies’ needs. Fabulous, top-quality nursing attire is now available. The days when nursing moms had to wear out-of-style, oversized t-shirts are over. Nowadays, styles have changed, their quality has also improved dramatically, and the addition of wonderful man-made fibers, such as Lycra®/ Spandex®, has become a blessing for them. Women know they can get stylish, high-quality clothes than make them look attractive and allow them to nurse their babies in comfort. Maternity retailers can suggest these basic pieces for any breastfeeding mom’s wardrobe:

A Black Linen Nursing Dress
Moms want fashionable, classy dresses that are comfortable and feminine. Black is the ideal color for stylish moms, and linen, or better yet, stretch linen add shape, comfort and breathe ability to the garment, satisfying both the stylish and the practical mom.

A Nursing Pant Suite
This type of outfit is as versatile as it gets. Moms can wear both pieces together, or combine them up with other pieces to achieve almost any look they want. Pant suits can be found in cotton, rayon and stretch linen.

A Cotton/Spandex® Top
This is the IT piece for everyone, whether mom is a stay-at-home-mom or corporate executive. The combination of these two fibers creates the perfect marriage. Cotton makes it comfortable, breathable, and affordable; Spandex® makes it stylish, adds more comfort and gives it a sexy feminine look.

Two Nursing Bras
No woman has only one bra, so why should the nursing mom be the exception? At least they need a white or beige (commonly called “ecru”) nursing bra and a black one. As women already know, they need one bra that can be worn with light-colored outfits and another one that should be worn with dark-colored clothes. Bras should fit comfortably and be snug, never tight. Women may have problems finding the proper nursing bra size, the best idea is for maternity retailers to offer assitance in measuring them and giving advice on the best shapes and styles for their needs and preferences.
