AISS 2002 Show Another Success

The 2002 AISS Juvenile Products Exposition, held in Las Vegas on September 30th - October 2nd, once again achieved rave reviews from exhibitors, AISS retailers, and sales representatives who attended this very important event.

The Association of Independent Specialty Stores (A.I.S.S.) is composed of the following retail store trade groups: Baby News, Baby Furniture Plus Association, USA Baby, and NINFRA. According to A.I.S.S. Partner and Executive Director of NINFRA, Larry Schur, "The results of the show exceeded our expectations and met all of the objectives we set out to achieve. Our goals with the formation of A.I.S.S. were to strengthen the relationship between A.I.S.S. member specialty store retailers and their key manufacturers, encourage manufacturers to develop exclusive and unique products for this market segment and to foster improved communications and partnerships between A.I.S.S. store members and their manufacturers. AISS retailer meetings in combination with the trade show allowed us to focus on these goals while benefiting our retailers, our suppliers, and our industry."

The annual trade show provides the opportunity for retailers to communicate directly with their key suppliers on a one-on-one basis in an informal environment. Together, they have the opportunity to identify profitable opportunities, solve common problems, and build lasting relationships.

In all, nearly 2,000 people attended this popular event, with over 750 AISS retail store buyers in attendance. It featured 400 booth spaces as well as private rooms in approximately 75,000 square feet of exhibit space. The networking opportunities at this show were tremendous. Details on the 2003 show are currently being finalized. Information on attending the 2003 A.I.S.S. Juvenile Products Exposition as an A.I.S.S. retailer, exhibitor, or sales representative should be available early next year.
